Offsite Backup as a Service for Microsoft 365 environment
Microsoft is not responsible for neither long-term storage nor security of your files! SharePoint files, your presentations, excel databases, e-mails, OneNotes... In case of manual deletion (+ empty recyclebin) or a cryptolocker attack, data is permanently lost!

As you can see, we also offer optional second, additional cloud backup copy, on European territory. In some industries, this is mandatory to be in line with NIS-2 or ISO standards. In that case, you can restore from our data centre and/or from this cloud storage.
Offsite Backup as a service FAQ
No. The load on your network and internet line can always be optimised and solutions are available for every scenario. For example:
At the daily backups:
- Be only changes in data or virtual machines sent, minimising the load on your internet line!
- Can you see the determine timing. E.g. outside office hours, or when network utilisation is typically minimal.
The initial first total backup may be done in stages, or at extreme data quantities may be hard drives are brought to the data centre. There, data is transferred locally at maximum speeds without burdening your network.
Any second backup to the remote cloud environment is always done via our data centre, so your network will not be affected.
Backup as a Service only offers recovery of files and snapshots of servers. You can restore these manually and individually on your existing, operational infrastructure. This happens quickly, but not automatically or immediately.
At Disaster recovery a mirrored environment is ready 24/7 to take over large-scale outages immediately so you can continue working undisturbed. Of course, VanRoey also offers solutions for this.
You receive a daily report showing how the backups went. If you see that something goes wrong (e.g. due to an overloaded server, network failure, power outage...) so that a copy job could not go ahead, there are 3 scenarios
- Standard: You can identify the cause and fix the problem
- Optional: You can call on our Support service to fix this
- Optional: You can also leave the follow-up of the reporting and resolution of potential issues entirely to us for a fixed monthly fee via a Managed Offsite Backup as a Service formula.

Yes, Microsoft also has a backup service in Azure, but we don't recommend it because of 3 reasons:
- This one is considerably more expensive.
- In this case, you are tied to the same provider for the availability of your backups, which is not recommended.
- It remains a US company, which is not always ideal for GDPR/NIS-2 compliance.
We work with Veeam Cloud Connect. So this service needs to be running in your environment. If you already use it for local backups, nothing extra is needed.
