Tailoring company The Bridge in digital transition with VanRoey

Mortsel-based customisation company De Brug faced recognisable challenges with their on-premise ERP system and paper-based workflows. VanRoey implemented a range of solutions, including Dynamics BC production, ForNAV, Tasklet + Bartender, PowerApp, Continia and EDS Archive. This digital transformation has led to more efficient operations, reduced lead times and improved inventory management.

Recognised challenges in the customisation sector

The Bridge faced significant (digital) challenges that hampered their efficiency and productivity. These challenges are recognisable to many custom firms in the sector.

With an ERP package that on-premise were running, they were limited in flexibility and scalability. The paper-based workflows for sales and purchase files made working from home difficult, caused high processing times and resulted in files not being invoiced. Stock tracking was done only once a month on paper count lists, leading to inefficient stock management and purchasing.

In addition schedules often not present and post-calculations were missing, which made it difficult to evaluate the cost and efficiency of projects.

Streamlined production with Dynamics BC and ForNAV

VanRoey implemented Dynamics 365 Business Central production, an ERP solution that ensures streamlined production planning and management. This system provides real-time insight into production processes, allowing De Brug to work more efficiently and respond better to changes.

In addition, ForNAV was introduced to improve reporting and document management. ForNAV enables easy generation and modification of reports and documents, which speeds up and simplifies administrative processes.

Optimising inventory management and logistics with Tasklet and Bartender

Tasklet and Bartender were deployed to optimise inventory management and logistics processes. Tasklet Factory's Mobile WMS (Warehouse Management System) ensures efficient processing of warehouse activities, such as; receiving, storage, picking, shipping, via mobile devices (such as scanners or tablets).

Bartender is a software solution for designing and printing labels, barcodes and RFID tags, ensuring accurate and fast identification of products.

Customised solutions with Microsoft Power Apps

In addition, VanRoey developed a Power App tailored to De Brug's business needs. Power Apps enable companies to quickly and easily custom applications to build without extensive programming knowledge.

The application for The Bridge included several features such as recording output, managing timekeeping and processing consumption. Administrative burdens were thereby fiercely reduced and data entry accuracy increased!

Automation of invoicing and document processing with Continia and EDS Archive

Continia was deployed to the (e-)invoicing and automate document processing. Continia Document Capture automates document scanning, recording and archiving. Again, this reduces the administrative burden and ensures faster and more accurate processing.

EDS Archive ensures efficient archive management by storing documents digitally and making them easily accessible.

Result: A successful Digital Transition

The implementation of these solutions led to significant improvements. Employees could now work anywhere, even on their smartphones, which increased flexibility and productivity. The turnaround time of files was reduced, improving the efficiency of business processes.

Staff savings were made in administrative functions, leading to cost savings. Cost allocation per production order gave a better insight into the cost structure. In addition, inventory management was optimised through a more accurate overview of available stock.

Finally, planning was displayed centrally, which improved the planning processes for the bespoke company streamlined.
